Do I need a day pass?
Yes, most locations will require a day pass (either a Discover Pass or a Northwest Forest Pass) to park. Both passes are available as either an annual pass or a single day pass.
Discover Pass: Available Here - State Parks
Northwest Forest Pass: Available Here - National Parks and Forests -
Do you have maps?
We do not carry paper maps, but you can download most OHV area maps for free from the National Forest Service. They have maps of all national forests in the US. To use the maps you'll need to install the free Avenza Maps app, available on Android and iOS, and then download the map you’d like to use. Most PDF maps can be used. Scan the QR code below to get the Avenza Maps app.

What kind of tow vehicle do I need?
You need a vehicle capable of towing at least 2000lbs for ATV rentals and 3500lbs for UTV rentals. All of our trailers require a 2" ball. If you have a receiver but do not have a ball mount we can provide one at an additional charge (available at checkout). To use our ball mount you need a receiver with a 2" square opening.
Important: If you are unsure if your vehicle can safely tow your rental please contact us before making a reservation. If, upon your arrival to pick up your rental, we feel your vehicle is not capable of safely towing the trailer you will not be allowed to take the rental machine. It is your responsibility to verify the capabilities and safety of your vehicle.
-
Is there an age requirement?
Renters and drivers must be 18 years or older and possess a valid driver's license for all of our machines.
Passengers (non-drivers) must be 2 years or older and are required to use a booster seat if they need one in a road vehicle.
-
Do I need a helmet?
Yes, for all of our machines. ATVs are especially crucial as there is nothing to protect you in the event of a rollover. For UTVs, even with the windshield, door (if equipped), and roll cage you are still at serious risk of injury or death in the event of a rollover or sudden and violent stop. There are steep cliffs and deep ravines, which can result in the UTV rolling violently multiple times. We have DOT approved helmets available for a fee, or you can bring your own DOT or SNELL approved helmet. If you do not have a helmet and refuse to rent ours you will not be allowed to rent the UTV.
On that same note, the provided seat belts in the UTVs are required. They are there to protect you in case of a violent stop or rollover and not wearing one puts you at serious risk of injury or death. The UTV will also severely limit the power until you put on the seat belt.

What are my options for rental insurance?
All rentals include a premium liability insurance policy at no additional charge (a $50/day value). We also provide medical insurance for an additional fee of $3.70 per person. You cannot decline or reject either, even if you obtain your own rental insurance policy.
-
Is there a damage deposit?
No, the insurance automatically covers the first $5000 in damage. You will be responsible for any damage or lost rental costs over and above $5000.
-
What should I bring?
Consider the weather forecast when planning your adventure. Check the weather daily and dress appropriately. Protect your head, eyes, and extremities. In UTVs with open cabs you will experience the full brunt of any weather conditions. Even if it's hot out, riding in the shade at higher speeds can cause a wind chill. Let someone know your travel plans and schedule. Here are a few common items that are often carried along as a part of an enjoyable rental experience:
- Water, nutritional drinks, etc. Think hydration.
- Container with food and snacks. Refresh your energy.
- Light coat, hat, sunscreen.
- Helmets. Protect your noggin. We can provide a DOT approved helmet to all participants for a fee.
- Tie downs. Leave no trace. You pack it in, you pack it out!
- Hiking/outdoor/closed-toe shoes. Get out & check things out.
- Maps & books. Know where you are.
- Electronics – phone, camera, GPS, etc.

ATV vs UTV: What's the difference?
Depending on where you've looked, there are many terms and acronyms that you may have come across as you've researched ATVs and UTVs. Any of the following terms can be used to describe a UTV:
- Side by Side (Most common term)
- UTV (Utility Task Vehicle)
- WATV (Wheeled All-Terrain Vehicle)
- ORV (Off-Road Vehicle)
- OHV (Off-Highway Vehicle)
- ATV (All-Terrain Vehicle)Each of these terms can be used interchangeably. Some may also refer to other types of vehicles. ATV, for example, usually refers to a four-wheeler which uses handle bars and a thumb throttle whereas a UTV or Side by Side has a steering wheel and foot pedal, but UTVs many times are lumped in with ATVs in search engines and other references.
